Agriculture Marketing covers all the services involved in transferring an agricultural product from a farm to the end user. These services include the planning, arranging, leading and managing of agricultural produce in such as way as to meet consumers, intermediaries and other farmers. In the agricultural marketing process, marketing plans are made by farmers themselves for marketing their produce to various markets. There are many activities involved in agricultural marketing.

The main aim of agricultural marketing is to ensure maximum profit to the farmer. This is done by ensuring the timely sale or dispatch of the produce by the farm owner. Various techniques are employed for this such as advertising, packaging and storage. Farmers advertise their produce by using banners, pamphlets, billboards and even word of mouth. There are also organizations that help farmers advertise their produce by creating newsletters and pamphlets. These organizations help farmers decide on the marketing strategy to maximize the potential of crop prices.

 

Since the main aim of agricultural marketing is to maximize profit to farmers, most of the crops and agricultural products are marketed through intermediaries. These intermediaries are companies that market agricultural products and ensure that they reach the right customers. Some of these companies include farmers’ cooperatives and state-approved agencies that help farmers manage their agricultural lands. They also guarantee the quality of the agricultural products and help farmers adapt to changes in technology and agriculture practice. Some of these companies have developed special tools and techniques to help farmers improve on their marketing skills.

 

In rural areas, there are also companies that provide agricultural marketing services to small-scale farmers. Through these companies, farmers can increase their profit and improve the quality of their agricultural products to consumers. Most of these companies have developed programs that focus on marketing the agricultural products of small-scale and medium-scale farms. This helps them improve on their marketing skills.

 

Agribusiness, as the name suggests, is one of the major sectors that have benefitted from an agricultural marketing system. Because of this, the profitability of this industry has been greatly improved. The farm marketing system has been designed to let farmers make more money by ensuring the quality and freshness of the agricultural products they sell to consumers. Farmers are now able to increase the amount of cash flow in their businesses after they finish the agricultural production. In short, it allows for the farmers to have more purchasing power so they can service more consumers in a single transaction.

With a good agricultural marketing program, it is easier for farm owners to increase their cash flow. A farmer’s income depends on the amount of cash that he or she receives from sales of agricultural products. A farm marketing system not only lets farmers earn more but also increases the value of their crops to consumers. This makes it possible for the trader to resell their produce to customers at a profit. For instance, if a farmer sells produce that is valued at $100, then he should be able to earn at least double of that amount if he promotes his produce to retailers at that price.

 

An agricultural marketing strategy is very effective because of its focus on consumer behavior. This approach focuses on understanding consumer behavior on a consistent basis. For example, it learns that when consumers see advertisements that feature younger people, they are more likely to buy the product because it speaks to their desire to be with friends and family. Knowing this consumer behavior, marketers can change their advertisements and entice more young consumers to buy their products.

 

Agribusiness has benefited greatly from the development of effective agricultural marketing strategies. Thanks to these strategies, more consumers now have access to good quality agribusiness products at affordable prices. Through this, farmers have been able to generate more income and meet the demands of the public.

Jamur Dapat Dikonsumsi Manusia

Jamur …ada banyak ragam jenis jamur yang tumbuh di bumi di antaranya ada yang dapat dikonsumsi dan ada pula yang tidak dapat dikonsumsi karena mengandung racun yang berbahaya.

Walaupun kerap kali dianggap sebagai sayuran, namun memiliki berbagai macam nutrisi yang biasanya ditemui di dalam daging, kacang-kacangan, dan biji-bijian.

Berikut diantaranya beberapa jenis yang enak dan aman untuk dikonsumsi:

1. Kuping

jamur kupingMerupakan salah satu jenis yang paling populer dijadikan sebagai bahan makanan di Indonesia. Jenis yang sering dimasak adalah jamur kuping merah yang memiliki nama latin Auricularia auricula dan jamur kuping hitam dengan nama latin Auricularia polytricha.

Pengambilan nama diambil dari bentuk yang dianggap mirip dengan daun telinga manusia. Kaya akan kandungan vitamin dan mineral di antaranya seperti vitamin B1, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin B9 atau asam folat dan vitamin C, magnesium, fosfor dan zat besi.

2. Tiram

jamur tiramBanyak jenis yang ada di dunia seperti tiram abu-abu, tiram putih, tiram cokelat dan juga tiram emas. Namun salah satu tiram yang paling banyak digandrungi oleh masyarakat adalah tiram putih.

Sebuah penelitian yang dimuat dalam Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine mengungkapkan bahwa tiram berpotensi dapat meningkatkan sistem kekebalan tubuh manusia.

Bahan aktif yang terkandung dalam tiram dapat merangsang makrofrag untuk bekerja lebih aktif. Makrofrag adalah salah satu bagian dari sel darah putih yang bertugas untuk melawan virus bakteri dan mikroorganisme yang ada di dalam tubuh.

3. Kancing

kancingMerupakan yang paling banyak dibudidayakan di seluruh dunia. Kerap hadir dalam berbagai olahan seperti sup, tumisan, hingga pizza. Kerap dijual dalam bentuk segar dan kalengan.

Seperti sayur dan buah-buahan memiliki banyak nutrisi , segenggap jamur kancing (40g) memiliki 20% dari AKG asam pantotenat yang membantu liver menangkal racun dan sangat penting untuk menghasilkan energi serta menjaga agar sel-sel tetap sehat.

4. Shitake

shitakeIni memiliki warna beige atau cokelat gelap. Shitake banyak digunakan dalam masakan jepang seperti udon seafood. Sebelum mengonsumsi shitake sebaiknya kamu perlu berhati-hati karena jamur ini mirip dengan jamur beracun Omphalotus guepiniformis. Ketika kamu hendak membeli shitake, perhatikan dengan lebih teliti karena kedua ini sangat mirip.
